Nikola Tesla – Creative Thinking and Imagination

Nikola Tesla

“Every living being is an engine geared to the wheelwork of the universe. Though seemingly affected only by its immediate surrounding, the sphere of external influence extends to infinite distance.”
– Nikola Tesla

Who Was Nikola Tesla the Inventor

Nikola Tesla was great inventor, who developed the induction motor, new types of generators and transformers, a system of alternating current power transmission, fluorescent lights, and a new type of steam turbine.

Tesla was born on July 9, 1856, in the village of Smiljan, in Croatia, which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and in 1891 became a U.S. citizen.

Nikola Tesla was known for his unusual mental abilities. He had a photographic memory and was able to use creative visualization with an unusual and practical intensity.

Tesla describes in his autobiography how he visualized a particular apparatus and then tested it, disassembled it, and checked for proper action and wear.

During the manufacturing phase of his inventions, he would work with all blueprints and specifications in his head.

The invention was invariably assembled together without redesign and worked perfectly.

It is said that Nikola Tesla slept one to 2 hours a day and worked continuously on his inventions and theories without the benefit of ordinary relaxation or vacations.

It is also said that he was able to judge the dimension of an object to a hundredth of an inch and perform difficult computations in his head without the benefit of slide rules or mathematical tables.

On 30 July 1891, aged 35, Tesla became a naturalized citizen of the United States.

Nikola Tesla Quotes

“The history of science shows that theories are perishable. With every new truth that is revealed, we get a better understanding of Nature, and our conceptions and views are modified”

“Electrical science has revealed to us the true nature of light, has provided us with innumerable appliances and instruments of precision, and has thereby vastly added to the exactness of our knowledge.”

“Most persons are so absorbed in the contemplation of the outside world that they are wholly oblivious to what is passing on within themselves.”

“I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success… such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.”

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

“My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.”

“In a time not distant, it will be possible to flash any image formed in thought on a screen and render it visible at any place desired. The perfection of this means of reading thought will create a revolution for the better in all our social relations.”

“We wind a simple ring of iron with coils; we establish the connections to the generator, and with wonder and delight we note the effects of strange forces which we bring into play, which allow us to transform, to transmit and direct energy at will.”
