Most of us wait for the right opportunity to arrive.
We wait for an opportunity to be offered a better position or a better job.
We wait for an opportunity to make more money.
Also, we wait for the right woman or man.
We wait for the opportunity to start something new.
Does the opportunity ever arrive without helping it to come?
Sometimes it does, but sometimes it doesn’t.
- It might not come at the right time
- We might not recognize it
- We might not be ready for it
- When it eventually appears, we might no longer be interested in it.
Why wait passively for something to happen? Why just daydream and not go beyond the dream? If you do nothing, you might become disappointed and unhappy because nothing happens.
You Can Create Opportunities
Often, it is not a matter of creating them but becoming aware of them. They are often there in front of us all the time, but we do not recognize them. Seeing them and recognizing them requires a change of mindset.
Things start happening when you want something very strongly and focus on it. There is no magic here; there are just plain mental and emotional laws at work.
Successful people use these laws, albeit unknowingly.
Most people use the same laws but negatively, creating things they don’t want.
How to Create Opportunities and Recognize Them?
- You need to define what you want. If you don’t know what exactly you want, how can you get it? When you know what you want, you will recognize the opportunities.
- Visualize your goal as already accomplished. Feel it, and enjoy it. This will motivate and energize you to make it real. When you have motivation, energy, and enthusiasm, you see opportunities you haven’t seen before. People you meet would sense your enthusiasm and would open new doors for you.
Suppose you want a new job but don’t believe you will find one. This attitude would block your mind and will hold you back from searching for a job.
If you want a new job very much, believe you will find one, and expect to find it, certain opportunities will become available. You might see an advertisement in a newspaper, or a friend might tell you about it.
The job was there, and you became aware of the opportunity because of your expectant attitude. Without this mindset, you would have missed it.
Here Is Another Example of Creating an Opportunity
You wish to travel abroad but think you cannot afford it and believe it would cost you a lot of money. You regard this dream as unachievable. This attitude would block any chance of traveling.
It would be completely different if you could awaken a strong belief and strong ambition, not just a mild wish.
You should imagine yourself traveling without any doubts about it. Sooner or later, you will find a deal, a discount, or some other way to enable you to travel that you can afford. You might also see an opportunity to make more money so you can travel.
If you want to find friends, you create the opportunity by mixing with people, not staying home. You create the opportunity by rehearsing in your mind how to talk and behave so that they are attracted to you.
You can create the opportunity for almost anything with the right attitude and the right thinking.
My book Manifest and Achieve is all about this subject. It teaches how you can shape your life and get what you want using visualization, your thoughts, and the right mental attitude.
